United Way of Manatee County Elects New Officiers, Board Members
Bradenton, Florida –Officers elected at the United Way of Manatee County Annual Meeting on February 9 are Board Chair C.J. Coury, Bank of America; Chair-Elect Henry Haitz, III, The Herald; Treasurer Dan Vigne, Wachovia Bank; and Secretary Sherry Berry, Tropicana Products. Michelle Detweiler, Detweiler Propane Gas, was elected as the Executive Committee At Large Member.
New Board Member Dianna Weaver of SunTrust Bank was elected to the Board of Directors.
Board Members elected for a second term are Dr. Jan Bevan, Community Volunteer; C.J. Coury, Bank of America; Rich Coyle, Tropicana Products; Dr. Roger Dearing, Manatee County Schools; Dennis Kim, Planet Beach and Spa; Mel Klein, Florida Power and Light; Chief Garry Lowe, Palmetto Police Department; Jo McRae, Community Volunteer; Tom Moseley, 1st National Bank & Trust.
Recognized at the Annual Meeting were outgoing Board Chair Bruce Body, Raymond James Financial, and Board Members Darrin Chrisman, Glauser Mercedes; Mel Griffin, Community Volunteer; Ruth Lawler, Michael Saunders & Company. Also recognized was Josh Leuchter for his service as Secretary to the Board for the past two years. Dennis and Linda Kim, former owners of All-Star Steakhouse & Sports bar, were also recognized for their exemplary support to the Board of Directors by providing complimentary lunches for board meetings for the past two years.
The United Way Foundation appointed Gene Beckstein as Chair of the Foundation, Mel Griffin as a Trustee, and recognized outgoing Chair Brian Flynn of Manatee Health System, and Trustee Ed Vogler for their service. |
