Making Your Donations Count in Manatee County!
Each year United Way member agencies complete a funding application process for all programs for which they are seeking support. These programs are categorized under the following four Community Impact Areas:
-
Strengthening Children and Families
-
Assisting People in Crisis
-
Enriching the Lives of Seniors
-
Empowering People to Independence
The requests are then evaluated by the United Way Community Investment Committee, which consists of 40+ volunteers representing a cross section of our community. Individuals from the local government, businesses, nonprofits and other citizens come together to tackle the issues that matter most. Using several evaluation tools, such as site visits, program outcomes, financial reviews and allocable dollars, the Committee makes its recommendations for funding for each inF2dividual program. These recommendations are reviewed and approved by the United Way Board of Directors. This process insures that your donor dollars are distributed where they will have the most impact in this community. |
